V-locity® for MEDITECH

V-locity acceleration software allows MEDITECH applications to run faster than ever before in physical and virtualized server environments without the cost of new or additional storage hardware.  By optimizing I/O as close to the application as possible, at the OS level, only productive I/O traffic is pushed through the server, network and storage, resulting in unprecedented application performance boosts from software.

As much as V-locity accelerates any I/O-intensive application, the V-locity for MEDITECH edition comes with an additional technology engine, MediWrite™, that optimizes behavior specific to the MEDITECH platform.

V-locity MediWrite monitors files for extreme cases of NTFS file fragmentation that could severely impact server performance once the File Attribute List (FAL) reaches its maximum size limit and cause unnecessary downtime to resolve.  MediWrite takes special action on these files to mitigate the problem and, more importantly, proactively prevents extreme cases from occurring in the first place.

V-locity uniquely addresses the unnecessary I/O patterns of reads and writes by aggregating data on writes to perform sequentially, while caching reads available server memory without contention to the application.  As a result, V-locity boosts application performance by 50% or more by (1) maximizing the efficiency of every single I/O from write requests that leave the server and (2) by caching the most active data from read requests using available server memory.
